About Larry Cragun

I have been in Real Estate in some aspect for over thirty years. My college major was business and even though I worked in non-real estate businesses for several years after college I always had an interest in everything I could find out about real estate. My interest was piqued when in my early twenties; I purchased a plot of land to build a home on. It was then I found I didn’t know much about real estate. I was about to begin to learn. Out of necessity, I learned about short plats, water rights, subdividing and more.  It increased my intent to be a real estate professional and I began working for Broadmoor Investments who were involved with both commercial and residential real estate.

Later, I  specialized in assembling land packages for large commercial developers, land acquisition, preleasing buildings prior to building, and land listings, including feasibility studies, income projections, where and when to build.

Through these experiences I was lead into the mortgage business for home buyers. I worked for Guaranty Bank learning all the ins and outs about the loan industry. After working with other banks or mortgage companies for several years I started my own mortgage company, Homes and Loans. It became one of the largest mortgage companies in Washington State. However running a mortgage company is not fun. Homes and Loans evolved into a combination of residential real estate, mortgages and technology that related to these industries.

For many years now, I have combined these experiences and knowledge to a much more satisfying career as a residential Realtor for Connect Realty.  From all my experience and knowledge of these varied but connected fields, I have a lot of abilities that other agents don’t possess.

My wife, Kathleen, is involved with me in this business. Our first date, after dinner at Benihanna’s and a concert of the Irish Rovers, was going to look at a house listing.  That was a hit!  Kathleen is an interior designer and loves houses. I have kept her so busy that she has no time for design except to help clients prepare their homes for sale and stage my listings, plus I take her with me when showing houses because she has much knowledge that is helpful to prospective buyers. We both enjoy the process. Our clients do as well.

I believe many of my strengths come from seeing failings of other realtors in the financial process. Buying a home is usually the biggest financial decision people make. Because of my knowledge of home mortgages, I know the pitfalls and watch out for them. I have taught many 1st Time Home Buyers classes. I make sure my clients are well informed and understand the complex financial aspects of buying a home. I offer them a clear picture, avoiding problems before they can occur. We help homebuyers avoid disappointment.

Four years ago, Kathleen and I started a network of neighborhood blogs, called NeighborhoodsUndressed.com. It is G rated! As part of that network we write the blogs www.issaquahUndressed.com and www.issaquahhighlandsUndressed.com .  There are many other neighborhoods in our network, such as www.GigHarborUndressed.comwww.SemiahmooUndressed.comwww.KeyPeninsula.com, www.CaminoIslandUndressed.com  and many more. These are Realtors who focus on their neighborhoods and local real estate. These blogs have been very effective at helping market client’s homes and call attention to people who want to learn about a particular area. We are members of the Chamber of Commerce and they keep brochures we provide about our Issaquah blogs because it has almost four years of information about what Issaquah and the people who live here are like. They call often for us to replenish their supply.

Each post from many of these blogs, including IssaquahUndressed, appears on the real estate section of the Citizen Rain blog, KING TV.

This is only one way we market your home on the internet. Your home will also be featured on Realtor.com, NWMLS, Homes.com, Craig’s List, YouTube, Google Base, Trulia, Zillow, Vast, Hotpads, Geebo, and View.

I would welcome the opportunity to be your Realtor, weather you are buying or selling.
